    OverviewWe are seeking an ADAS Simulation Engineer who will be responsible for architecting, designing, and integrating the simulation pipeline for Nikolas ADAS/AD Team.

    You will be championing the journey of simulation ecosystem creation to test execution and usage in ADAS development.

    You will have full autonomy to strategize your roadmap, architect state of the art simulation pipelines, and deliver innovative solutions.

    Your internal customers will utilize this state-of-the-art platform to develop world-class ADAS products for the Nikola customers.


    ResponsibilitiesYou will:


    Design, develop, and maintain autonomous driving simulation platforms, including physics-based simulations and sensor simulationsWork closely with the autonomous driving algorithm team to understand their testing requirements and design simulation scenarios accordinglyImplement realistic virtual environments, including roads, traffic, weather conditions, and sensor models, to replicate real-world driving scenariosIntegrate autonomous driving software into the simulation platform and ensure seamless interaction between the two systemsPerform validation and verification of autonomous driving algorithms by conducting simulated tests and analyzing resultsCollaborate with other teams, such as hardware, software, and machine learning engineers, to ensure the simulation platform meets their testing needsDocument and present simulation results and provide recommendations for improving autonomous driving systemsStay up-to-date with the latest advancements in autonomous driving simulation technologies and best practicesQualificationsYou have:A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.

    A master's degree or PhD is preferredMinimum 3 years of experience in simulation engineering, preferably in the automotive or robotics industryProficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, PythonStrong understanding of physics, mathematics, and software development principlesExperience with autonomous or robotics simulation software such as Gazebo, V-REP, CARLA, CarMaker, or CarSim is highly desirableKnowledge of autonomous driving technologies, including perception, localization, path planning, and control systemsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detailStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentThis is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of autonomous driving technology.
