- Current BLS from AHA or ARC
- Must have completed a *CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program and have successfully completed the surgical technologist LCC-ST certifying exam and hold current national Surgical Technologist Certification.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures. Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment. May be required to transport patient to and from the operating room.
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
- The Surgical Technician serves as a part of the operating room team, preparing supplies and instruments for surgical procedures, observes proper standards of care, including aseptic technique and performs as a scrub technician as appropriate for each surgical procedure.
