    Description
    Essential Functions:
    • Work in a manner consistent with our Core Values and ensure compliance with safety and company policies.
    • Procure proper and necessary equipment for transportation planning and distribution activities.
    • Long range planning for future distribution, fleet growth and expansion.
    • Develops capital budget for all distribution equipment and monitors budget expenditures.
    • Manage the logistics system in the areas of fleet and route efficiency, ensure that Route Supervisors are trained on the system and using it according to procedure to optimize route efficiency and DVIR reporting
    • Ensure drivers are current and compliant with CDL and medial cards. Work with HR and area Route Supervisors
    • Update fuel cards. Review fuel bills and monitor fuel usage by vehicle at all locations
    • Work with HR to ensure driver qualification files (DQ Files) are current and compliant
    • Work with HR to develop and implement policies and procedures on all transportation matters
    • PUC and IFTA reporting on all vehicles within assigned branch.
    • Manage logistic cost performance measures, identify opportunities to streamline and develop processes and manage distribution/operational costs.
    • Work with Fleet Maintenance Supervisor on fleet appearance including painting and decals.
    • Update cab cards and insurance cards and make sure they are distributed timely for each vehicle.
    • Ensure companywide compliance with all D.O.T. rules, regulations, and requirements. Keep up to date on new and existing Federal Motor Carrier laws and regulations.
    • Cover Route Supervisor when they are on vacation.
    • Communicate with Roseburg concerning distribution requirements.
    • Coordinate with Fleet Maintenance Supervisor on scheduled maintenance of all distribution related equipment.
    • Coordinate with outside vendors for emergency equipment procurement when necessary.
    • Work with Transportation Manager on fuel usage per vehicle. Capitalize on fuel efficiencies when possible.
    • Participate in weekly transportation meetings with the corporate transportation team (Transportation Manager, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, and Branch Operations Manager).
    • Work with all Route Supervisors to help train their local drivers on company procedures, equipment knowledge and safety, handheld computer operations and inventory accountability.
    • Facilitate AR payment collections from customers within territory as needed.
    • Work with General Sales Manager to grow sales within branch territory.
    • Monitor miles, hours, and product loss for branch at customer and route levels.
    • Participate in industry and community events as needed.
    • Other projects as assigned
