    Description

    These captains will play a pivotal role in supervising, supporting, and managing groups of up to 10 summer youth employees, ensuring a positive and enriching experience. With a scheduled work period from June 3rd to July 26th, the Team Captains will conduct weekly observations, coordinate with business unit supervisors, and oversee the overall well-being and progress of the assigned groups, emphasizing attendance, behavior, and participation in mandatory workshops.

    By securing these positions ahead of the program's start on June 6th, the proposal aims to ensure robust supervision, coordination, and overall improvement in the summer youth experience. The emphasis on careful planning and early engagement with key staff members reflects the commitment to providing a seamless and impactful program for both the participating youth and the dedicated staff involved.

    - Supervise, support, manage and provide coaching/discipline to assigned group of up to 10 Summer Youth employees - Conduct weekly drop-in observations and complete informal observation forms - Schedule regular meetings with business unit supervisors of the Summer Youth twice weekly to review progress, support needed, and individual student performance - Create weekly schedules for the assigned group, ensuring they are aware of any mandatory workshops - Take attendance and address tardiness or absenteeism - Refer students to appropriate resources if needed - Schedule weekly internal meetings to update designated DOA staff of any observations, issues, concerns prior to initiating communication with Workforce Fulton, Clayton, and Dekalb assigned staff to discuss support or resources needed for specific students - Monitor student behavior during breaks, addressing any misconduct - Accompany the assigned group during workshops, airport field tours/trips - Follow mandatory reporting guidelines and escalation protocols for all incidents and concerns - Notify the Lead Captain in case of unexpected absence and ensure a substitute can follow the weekly plan. - Coordinate with transportation staff to ensure all students board/ride the shuttle from the Domestic Atrium to their assigned off-site work locations - Receive and process all students daily for check-out

    1. K Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

    · Working knowledge of writing curriculum and developing lesson plans for high school students.

    · Knowledge and experience of virtual Platforms (Microsoft Teams and Zoom).

    1.M Minimum Qualifications – Education Experience

    2. Two-three years prior experience (Education, Summer Camp Counseling is preferred).

    3. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.

    4. Demonstrated ability to establish productive, innovative work environments.

    6. The ability to track and manage data reporting on a daily basis.
