- Serve as the primary resource for equipment knowledge, troubleshooting, and data information regarding the imaging system.
- Load prepared microscopic slides onto a digital image scanner for pathologist review.
- Assist with laboratory slide preparation and delivery operations to limit disruption to workflow.
- Perform quality assurance evaluation on scanned images.
- Confirm slides are scanned as complete cases.
- Prepare and analyze data metrics related to imaging system reliability.
- Collaborate professionally with the digital imaging implementation team to ensure success.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- One year previous medical record department-related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, histology, anatomy, and pathology.
- Ability to understand, manipulate, and verify data for accurate reports.
- Ability to work in an environment with demanding rush deadlines and to concentrate under the pressure of time constraints.
- Comfortable and proficient using computer software, specifically Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel).
- Strong multitasking skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and effective communication.

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a full-time Histology Image Scanning Tech to join the Laboratory team This position is part of a growing Informatics Division and will be instrumental in sharing workflow feedback for optimal outcomes.
