- Directs the planning, development, and operations of a program with the Task Force for Global Health.
- Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies.
- Plans, executes, and monitors program budgets, including approval of expenditures; prepares annual financial and program reports to external parties with interests in the program.
- May engage in fundraising initiatives on behalf of the program.
- Ensures that the program is in compliance with federal and international laws and regulations.
- Oversees program communications, including development of communications strategies, development of key program messages, production of print and electronic materials, and reputation management.
- Represents the program in various national and international fora, and actively engages with representatives from other NGO's for purposes of conducting research and designing new initiatives.
- May supervise program staff.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Works with the Directors and Project Leads to define scope of a project, coordinate and carry our programmatic activities related to Operational Research program and events associated with the NTDSC.
- Establishes priorities, develops work plans, tracks and reports progress based on knowledge of program needs and direction; meets associated deadlines.
- Assists in the management, tracking and updates of current Operational Research portfolio.
- Provides project management support to the Operational team and others using the project management tool (SmartSheet).
- Documents project work plan/timeline, resources needs, resource expectations, key milestone dates and tracks project process.
- Ensures the NTDSC projects are driven to meet the contract deliverables and grant milestones, program related documents are up to date, well organized, easily accessible to colleagues, and properly safeguarded against loss or misuse within the NTDSC repository and project management tool (SmartSheet).
- Updates NTDSC deliverables database to accurately record major program deliverables that will facilitate reporting to support internal and external partners (i.e. NTDSC Team members, grantees, donors and others).
- Creates status reports for distribution to project team and external partners
- Updates activities and modifies deliverable dates as needed
- Participates in the resolution of project management related issues
- Creates contracts for projects & consultants, as needed.
- Identifies subcontractors in countries and provides guidance on reporting, payment and the implementation of activities.
- Reviews expense reports and manages detailed budget.
- Works with the financial management staff to provide information for financial reports.
- Creates and submits invoices.
- Helps ensure adherence to operational, administrative standards operating procedures
- Meets regularly with the project team to review all current projects and escalates issues to supervisor as needed.
- Builds and nurtures relationships with consultants and external partners by interacting through email, phone calls, meetings, and/or in-person visits.
- Ability to maintain effectiveness and adaptability when working with operations, research, and finance teams.
- Corresponds with external colleagues, collaborators and stakeholders.
- Facilitates communications, organization and delivers operational excellence
- Attends conferences/meetings and reviews literature in order to stay abreast of current knowledge and issues.
- Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health and NTDSC by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management.
- Represent the secretariat in different activities like conferences, meetings, contact with donor or activities assigned by the supervisor.
- Acts as a liaison to global partner organizations and all project related personnel and affiliates, with a high level of diplomacy and tact.
- Participates in problem solving and resolution of operational issues
- up to 10% domestic and/or international travel is required.
- Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and six years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Masters of Public Health in a field related to the program
- At least 3 years of experience working in international public health programs
- Previous experience working in Neglected Tropical Disease area
- Demonstrated excellence in organization, writing, and project management.
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills, especially in cross-cultural settings
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to work independently in a fast-paced environment to achieve results.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness of information and data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Suite
- Prior experience in donor and partner relations
- Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail and quality
- Working knowledge of either French or Spanish
- Previous experiences living and/or working in an international setting
- Experience working with global non-profits

The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. Its 17 programs focus on building durable public health systems that serve all people. Focus areas include neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and health systems strengthening. The Task Force received the 2016 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prizethe world's largest award of its kindin recognition of its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering.
NTD-SC Background:
Based at the Task Force for Global Health in Decatur, GA, and affiliated with Emory University, the Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center (NTD-SC) aims to optimize operational research to eliminate neglected tropical diseases which threaten the lives and well-being of millions of people in some of the worlds most marginalized communities. This work, conducted in close coordination with partners, addresses challenges facing each phase of the programs targeting the Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs): effectively scaling up to reach those at risk, successfully scaling down when their goals are reached, and finally sustaining the reductions achieved in disease prevalence. NTD-SC serves as the secretariat for The Coalition for Operational Research on Neglected Tropical Diseases (COR-NTD).
