    JOB TITLE: Laundry Aide

    DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services

    REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Director

    HOURS: Rotating Schedule that will include weekdays and weekend hours. This position does require working every other weekend.

    Weekdays 7am – 3:00pm M-F and Every other Weekend 6am – 2:00pm or 7:00am – 3:00pm

    CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt / Hourly

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Responsible for gathering, labeling, washing, drying, folding and distributing laundry for the Coble Creek Healthcare facility.

    Essential Duties:

    1. Gather soiled laundry from the nursing care areas and transport to the Laundry area.
    2. Wash, dry, and fold all laundry. Return all laundered items to the nursing care areas, ensuring placement in the proper locations.
    3. When handling individual resident's laundry, ensure it is labeled, laundered and returned appropriately.
    4. As required, provide services in the Housekeeping area.
    5. Report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident concerns to the appropriate Management/Supervisory staff in a timely manner.
    6. Respond and react in a kind, polite, and professional manner with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
    7. May be required to work independently or assist others in the cleaning of other facilities or residences of the organization.
    8. This position will adhere to the environmental and infection control standards established by OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
    9. May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements.

    • Able to sit, stand, bend, reach and move intermittently during work.

    • Possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to meet the responsibilities of the job.

    • Able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., up to 25 pounds.
    • May be required to adjust scheduled time or work beyond normal hours for planned activities/events and emergencies.


    • May be exposed to odors from cleaning/laundry supplies, equipment, and /or waste.

    Education and/or Experience:


    • One or more years of laundry experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
