This role will be located at our Cincinnati, Ohio facility.

    Role overview:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ownership of the overarching technical processes at an engine systems level to design, analyze, instrument, test, and qualify jet engines for uncrewed military applications.
    • Lead the creation of engineering processes to execute new engine designs. This includes, but is not limited to, design review objectives and structure, design best practices, analysis and design standards, and instrumentation/assembly procedures.
    • Chair technical reviews aligned with program milestones and support customer engagement. Some examples include joint development phase meetings, requirements reviews, design reviews, technology readiness reviews, and rig/test related reviews.
    • Lead and/or support initiatives to progress technology through various readiness levels and proactively manage risk.
    • Lead strategy on resolving complex systems level challenges and interdependencies.
    • Lead root cause / corrective action initiatives related to technical learnings. Capture lessons learned and implement long-term changes.
    • Support assessing the impact to program related requirements such as cost, schedule, and budget when providing technical guidance or making decisions.
    • Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering teams with respect to systems engineering principals, tools, and techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Mentor engineers, support creation of technical career development paths for various engineering functions. Support staffing strategies and recruiting/interviewing to grow the team.
    • Experience supporting the development of new materials with additive manufacturing and using additive manufacturing as an enabler to reduce lead times, reduce cost, and/or provide a technical competitive advantage with a propulsion product.
    • Review and approve engineering documents and drawings. Assure proper documentation of technical data and information.
    • Communicate important business and technical information to both internal and external leaders in a clear, organized, and concise manner. Support business development initiatives.
    • Ensure the program is following approved, business compliant processes/procedures in the development, test, and qualification phases for our customers. Support creating processes and procedures aligned with industry standards.
    • Interface with customers to develop system level solutions throughout the development program.
    • Work with suppliers and manufacturing to resolve technical and quality challenges.
    • Experience leading people in dynamic environments while solving complex technical problems. Role will initially be an individual contributor but will likely grow into a people leadership role.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or STEM-related discipline from an accredited university or college
    • At least 18 years of experience in gas turbine design, analysis, test, and/or development
    • At least 8 years of experience working in technical leadership roles related to systems engineering
    • Experience with Cameo or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools
    • Background in aerospace engine systems; working knowledge of aircraft or vehicle systems, turbomachinery, engine-vehicle integration, controls and electronics, and auxiliary systems such as pumps, actuators, and generators.
    • Demonstrated technical leadership skills while leading complex technical initiatives. Ability to make decisions with limited information in changing environments.
    • Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles. Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability
    • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
    • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
    • Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams.

If this sounds like you, please submit an application with your resume. This could be the opportunity you are looking for to expand your skills, contribute to a winning team, and work with talented people who love what they do and take pride in our mission.
