    Description
    The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of clinical services for infants, children, and adolescents. The Pediatric (RN) Supervisor will work to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed and develop new department goals and objectives. The Pediatric RN Supervisor will not only be in charge of the supervision of clinical employees within the department as well as education and training but will also provide their expertise to new employees as they onboard into the clinical setting of pediatrics. Pay range for this position is $77,265-92,338 per year, based on years of experience.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Facilitates communication and collaboration among clinic staff and other departments regarding issues related to patient care. Alerts Executive Director of Clinical Operations of significant clinical and/or other performance issues.
    • Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
    • Cares for infants and children with chronic and multi-system illnesses and injuries. Provides professional nursing services based on the basic concepts of growth and development of infants and children. Provides age and culturally appropriate care and performs routine developmental screenings. Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests results.
    • Administers vaccines and immunizations. Calculates dosages for and understands the nursing implications of medications used for infants and children.
    • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Advocate for patient safety, health work safety, and safety practices. Handles emergency calls and provides nurse triage throughout the day.
    • Provides assistance to the physicians, advanced practice providers, and other health care providers in the pediatric clinic. Assists practitioners with examinations and treatments.
    • Participates in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees.
    • Counsels employees on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions, and collaborates in monitoring attendance issue
    • Prepares schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage and forecasts anticipated requests for coverage in advance.
    • Participates in and supports quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives; participates in department and committees as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Pediatric Nursing required.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising and leading a team
    • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
    • Registered Nurse (RN) License for the state of NV required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS
    • Advanced knowledge of pediatric care, child growth and development, developmental milestones, and behavior patterns required.
    • Advanced knowledge of healthcare systems and regulations
    • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
    • Advanced knowledge of Nevada Medicaid rationales for case management billing, insurance billing, and insurance practices
    • Advanced knowledge and development of a written plan of care
    • General knowledge of business principles involved in planning, resource allocations, human resource concepts, operations, policies and procedures.
    • Strong leadership and management skills to promote teamwork and excellent customer service practices.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
    • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a team.
    • Must be able to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
    • Must be able to pay close attention to details.
