    Department Overview

    The vision of the Clinical Informatics Department is to realize the full benefits of OHSU and OHSU Health Care¿s clinical information systems.

    The Department applies the science of informatics to enable excellence in patient care, by creating and monitoring clinical workflows and content that supports the mission of OHSU and OHSU Health Care.

    Function/Duties of Position
    The ACHIO – Ambulatory Care will:


    Working as a dyad with the Director of Clinical Informatics (the Director) and in partnership with the Chief Health Information Officer to develop and implement the strategic direction of CID at OHSU and OHSU Health.


    Be responsible for strategy with the CHIO and management of clinician informaticists in the Ambulatory Care environment to provide improved provider efficiency, training, and workflows.

    Partner with the Director to ensure that the clinician informaticists (provider builders) and clinical informatics specialists are working seamlessly together to meet the prioritized needs of the business.


    Provide core informatics, terminology, analytics, and clinical decision support expertise to CID, ITG, HEAT and remainder of OHSU and OHSU Health at discretion of CHIO.

    Provide informatics strategy and active co-management, with the director, of any relevant strategic priorities requiring informatics resources (i.e. OHSU partner system implementation projects).

    Co-develop and maintain appropriate governance structures to support effective decision making, prioritization, and change management for respective informatics work. (Customer User Groups)

    Communicate and collaborate effectively with key ITG and Health System stakeholders.

    Required Qualifications

    Education:

    Clinical Degree:
    MD or DO AND

    Successfully complete Informatics Fellowship or 5 years of ACHIO or equivalent experience in lieu of fellowship


    Experience:
    At least 5 to 10 years of clinical experience

    At least 5 years in an informatics related or administrative role

    5 years of experience working on a team

    Participation in at least 1 large, strategic project

    1 year of experience managing direct reports with an HR relationship

    Job Related Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:

    Working understanding and knowledge of EHR Database architecture

    Working knowledge of interoperability

    5 years as a practicing ambulatory clinician using Epic


    Registrations, Certifications, and/or Licenses:
    Active clinical license

    Informatics Board Certification/Eligible

    Must possess or achieve within six months: Epic Physician Builder
