Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Chester - Aveanna Healthcare
Description
Job Title:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Organization:
Chester Upland SD
Location:
Emotional Support Classrooms at Chester HS, and Toby Farms Intermediate School.
We used to also support an elementary school, but they started using an internal BCBA to cover that.
It's possible we may take that back, so this person may need to split their time across three schools instead of two.
Employment Type:
Part-time?
35-40 hours per week while school is in session.
We can offer this position with or without benefits.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday when school is in session. No hours when school is not in session.
Little to no work over the summer.
Start time depends on which school the person visits first as each school starts at a different time, but 7:45-3:15 is something people would need to be able to pull off.
Typical Placements :
Emotional Support Classrooms at the schools referenced above.
Pushing in to gen ed classes throughout the day.
Caseload:
2-3 ES classes
Requirements:
BCBA with supervisory credential. Experience working with students who are deemed eligible for special education under the disability category of "emotional disturbance."
Teaching experience would be a plus as this person should be able to help ES Coaches lead lessons on the five pillars of social emotional learning (self-awareness, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, social awareness, self-management).
Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Individualized Treatment Planning
Initial Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive assessments using tools such as the VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program).
Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP):
Develop customized plans for each child based on assessment results, addressing specific needs, goals, and strengths. Review and update these plans quarterly.
Behavioral Interventions
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA):
Implement evidence-based interventions such as Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Training (NET), and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT).
Positive Behavior Support (PBS):
Utilize proactive strategies to promote desirable behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors, incorporating Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
Skill Acquisition Programs
Communication Skills:
Enhance verbal and non-verbal communication using techniques like the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices through a verbal behavior model.
Social Skills Training:
Facilitate structured playgroups, peer modeling, and social stories to foster interaction and social understanding.
Adaptive Skills:
Provide training in activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, feeding, and toileting, to promote independence.
Data Collection and Progress Monitoring
Real-Time Data Collection:
Continuously collect data on target behaviors and skills using digital tools and software for efficient tracking.
Regular Progress Reviews:
Conduct weekly team meetings to discuss progress, update ITPs, and adjust interventions as needed.
Completion of Daily Clinical Notes:
Maintain thorough documentation and complete daily clinical notes to ensure accurate records and facilitate billing for services.
Family Involvement and Training
Parent Training Programs:
Conduct workshops and one-on-one training sessions to empower parents with ABA techniques and strategies.
Home-Based Support:
Extend clinic programs into the home environment through regular consultation and support.
Collaborative Approach
Interdisciplinary Team:
Coordinate with BCBAs, Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and special education teachers.
Integrated Services:
Ensure seamless collaboration with early intervention programs to maintain consistency across settings.
Supervision and Training
BHT Supervision:
Provide supervision and training to Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), ensuring they effectively implement ITPs and utilize ABA techniques.
Service Provision
Service Delivery:
Provide the specified amount of services as detailed in each student's Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP).
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA).
Experience in conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans for young children with developmental and behavioral challenges.
Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques, including DTT, NET, and PRT.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience working in a school or clinical setting with early intervention programs.
As an employer accepting Medicare and Medicaid funds, employees must comply with all health-related requirements in all relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing, subject to exemptions for medical or religious reasons as appropriate.
