- Director-Specialty Care
- Strong core knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of pediatric echocardiography.
- Ability to assess, image, and present pediatric echocardiograms in a professional, efficient and highly diagnostic manner.
- Advanced proficiency in fetal echocardiography recommended.
- Performs pediatric echocardiograms in an efficient manner with accuracy, precision, and in accordance with current departmental imaging protocols.
- Appropriate knowledge and use of the following HIS software, systems and equipment.
- Appropriate knowledge and use of the iE33 imaging carts to include all associated transducers and transesophageal imaging probes.
- Appropriate knowledge and use of the CX50 imaging carts to include all associated transducers and transesophageal imaging probes.
- Appropriate knowledge and practice of maintaining, stocking, cleaning, and disinfection of all imaging equipment and work areas.
- Assists in QC/QA projects, as assigned in order to ensure continued advancement of the Echo Lab services.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures to ensure safe and consistent provision of care/testing.
- Maintains current technical expertise in compliance with ARDMS/CCI standards.
- Actively participates in after hour, weekend, and holiday emergency call coverage rotation.
- Participates in the professional education of co-workers, establishes goals and helps staff in achieving those goals.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter-and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.

- Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 pounds frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure for lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching, and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Performs efficient, high quality diagnostic imaging procedures in the field of pediatric echocardiography.
REPORTS TO
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Minimum Education: Associates Required; Successful completion of Ultrasound or Cardiovascular Technology Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAAHEP) or the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) which includes verified didactic and supervised clinical experience in Echocardiography.
Degree: General
License/Certification Required: BLS required, PALS recommended; Registered or registry eligible for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Minimum Work Experience: 2 years echo experience required, pediatrics experience preferred
