    Intex Electrical Contractors is looking for a Sr.

    Project Superintendent with 10 years experience with 5 years of this experience being in institutional (K-12, educational institutes) and municipal (city and govt.

    buildings) with budgets greater than $5 million to join our Construction Group, managing projects in the DFW area.

    Job Details:


    Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsible for the effective review of the plans, specifications, and submittals, per Project Manager.
    The Sr. Project Superintendent, in partnership with PM, will design and draft a working installation drawing, which will provide detailed information for the installation of underground conduits/ conductors, overhead

    lighting/power/HVAC

    conduits and conductors, interior/exterior wall rough

    conduits/conductors,

    and Distribution equipment/conduits and conductors based on the engineered plans, specifications and Estimate.

    Works closely with the Project Manager to determine the most cost-effective way to design and install the electrical system, per the applicable specifications and local codes.

    Assist the PM in developing a working pre-fab check list/drawing and producing a detailed bill of material on the items that will be pre-fabed, including but not limited to wall rough (MC and conduit), overhead lighting whips, distribution gear, conduits, and hangers.

    Assist the PM in developing weekly manloading schedules, to do lists and look ahead based on the project budget manloading and will monitor the efficiency per cost code while working with the PM through this process.

    Produce a detailed material list per area and phase for a Construction Estimate. Provide a detailed list to the Project Manager to secure material PO's per area and phase.
    Responsible for overseeing the pre-fab materials and make sure they conform to the specified project, specifications and schedule.

    Review all plans, including but not limited to the Civil, Structural, Architectural and MEP and will work closely with the PM to develop RFI's and ideas for the most cost-effective way to install the electrical system.

    The RFI's and proposed methods will be discussed with the PM and Estimator and confirm they are within the specifications and the Estimator's takeoff.

    Attend multiple coordination meetings, if required, with the PM to provide detailed information on the install means and methods related to the design drawings.

    Review the electrical system installation and will monitor efficiencies, installation methods, safety and overall project status.
    Attend the biweekly project L10 meetings w/ the Project Manager.

    Guide, direct and motivate subordinates and will set performance standards and monitor performance and assist the PM with annual performance reviews.

    Identify any freight damages, fixture, material shortages and relay information to PC and PM.

    SKILLS:
    Positively identify colors of wires.
    Reading and drawing prints and schematics.
    Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
    Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
    Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.
    Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.
    Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers.
    Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission.
    Read and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written instructions.
    Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered).
    Work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy.
    Supervise assigned job site employees to complete project.
    Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E-8, E 7, E 6, E 5, E-4, E 3, E 2, E 1)
    Operate equipment, trenchers, back hoe, lift trucks in a safe manner.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders (Class 1-250lbs, Class 2-300lbs).
    Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head.
    Lift 51 pounds, 20 times per day. Constantly move about on the feet.
    Climb ladders of all types.
    Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.

    Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A.

    approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.
    Possess good vision, normal or corrected.
    Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
    Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
    Must be able to positively identify different colors of wiring.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:


    May work inside or outside while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times; possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; work at all elevations including ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
