Position Overview:

Responsible for delivering direct patient care to specific patient populations effectively using the nursing process as the foundation for care delivery. Acts as a patient advocate, coordinates care, and promotes safety and quality in daily practice.

Job Description:

EDUCATION: Associate degree in nursing.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years of recent relevant experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED: 2 years experience as an IES RN is required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated general knowledge and competence in nursing theories, concepts, practices, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety policies, best practices in patient care, privacy, and regulations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear explanation of information to diverse audiences.
- Time management, organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work within established policies.
- Basic computer application knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Independence, teamwork, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Problem-solving abilities using critical thinking techniques.
- Privacy protection of patient information.
- Building relationships with peers and healthcare providers to achieve goals.
- Assignment prioritization and adherence to policies for objective accomplishment.
