    Description

    Summary:

    The Nursing Sponsorship Student completes the coursework required to graduate from an accredited school of nursing. While going to school, the student works in a clinical capacity (if holds a current clinical licenser or certification) or non-clinical capacity at Northern Light Health.

    Responsibilities:

    Attend class and lab related to school and study for said classes up to 16 hours/week; work the remainder of 24 hours when not in school or studying.

    Maintain commitment to work 40 hours/week when not in school

    Detailed Responsibilities:

    Attends education sessions, workshops, and other continuing education opportunities to enhance or gain new skills.

    Performs other duties as assigned or required.

    Integrates management and delivery of comprehensive healthcare services

    Performs tasks of a clinical nature within scope of assigned duties and clinical expertise.

    Communicate effectively in both oral and written form, as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

    Adheres to governmental and industry specific regulations/laws. Maintains current knowledge of organizations policies and procedures.

    Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of information, including patient, personnel, and organizational data/records.

    Provides prompt and effective service to internal and external customers.

    Records, maintains, distributes, and prepares documents or information.

    Manages / maintains electronic health records in accordance with confidentiality standards and policies.

    Adheres to a set of moral principles with an understanding of philosophical thought.

    Identifies, pursues, and achieves previously-established personal, team, and organizational goals.

    Follows established procedures and standards to limit the spread of infection.

    Provides logistic, financial, emotional support and guidance to patients.

    Works to meet patient's psychological, emotional, or physical needs.

    Meets established productivity benchmarks.

    Provides coverage for peers, subordinates, and leadership on an as needed basis.

    Works to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.

    Maintains a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.

    Work with members of the team or department in an effective and efficient manner. Shares knowledge and serves as a resource in a team environment.

    Essential:

    Must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and be in Junior or Senior year if 4 year degree or the 2nd year for 2-year degree. Must be willing and able to provide copies of transcripts indicating completion levels and grades as well as 2 letters of recommendation (one clinical and one educational).
