    About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Retail Investment Research Analyst to join the Global Manager Research team in Charlotte, NC or St.

    Louis, MO.

    Global Manager Research (GMR) is charged with recommending and overseeing third party managers for Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management (WIM).

    This position is responsible for the recommendation and ongoing oversight process for pooled investments and select direct private investments.

    The Lead Research Analyst ensures implementation of a disciplined due diligence process designed to improve the probability of a better investment outcome for clients of Wells Fargo.


    In this role, you will:** Perform initial and on-going operational due diligence on third-party investment products

    • Support field investment professionals by responding to their inquiries about the recommendations and/or selection methodology used on products under coverage
    • Responsible for drafting communications to the field.
    • Conduct on-site and virtual due diligence pursuant to GMRs evaluation criteria
    • Perform analysis on third-party investment managers/products as well as direct private investments
    • Deliver presentations related to the activities of GMR to internal team members as well as occasionally to field investment professionals and their clients.
    • Preparation of all Due Diligence Committee meeting materials, peer group comparisons, research opinions, etc.
    • Assist with the on-boarding of new managers/products
    • The successful candidate will be expected to maintain current due diligence opinions and documentation that meet enterprise standards
    Preferred locations are Charlotte, NC or St. Louis, MO. Relocation assistance is not available


    Required Qualifications:** 5+ years of Retail Investment Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


    Desired Qualifications:** Experience valuing individual private companies; knowledge and understanding of various valuation methodologies

    • Experience in money manager research
    • Knowledge and understanding of analyzing financial statements, corporate actions, contracts, and other governing documents
    • 5+ years of financial services industry experience
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or demonstrated progress toward the designation
    • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
    • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

    Job Expectations:** Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
