    POSITION TITLE: CorporateSafety Coordinator

    LOCATION: Brenham, TX

    SUMMARY POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Corporate Safety Coordinator provides technical safety and health support to operations personnel. Ensures plant safety and health programs and objectives are followed. Coordinates safety training programs. Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to operations personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead team of safety personnel responsible for three manufacturing facilities and dozens of distribution facilities across multiple states.
    • Report to Vice President of Compliance.
    • Serve as primary internal response for regulatory agencies responsible for occupational safety at federal and state levels.
    • Develop and implement long-term strategy and short-term plans for maintenance and continuous improvement of the occupational safety/health and site security programs across the company.
    • Provide technical expertise in drafting of safety reports in support of organizational objectives.
    • Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs
    • Monitor and communicate developments in federal government and industry rules and regulations.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
    • Direct and coordinate the preparation of routine safety performance reports, review accident performance and trends, and assist employees in implementing appropriate corrective action plans.
    • Travels between facilities as needed for work purposes.
    • Fosters teamwork and organizational structures to improve communication and simplify operations; establishes and continually improves work processes, leveraging technology and automation as appropriate.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelors degree in safety management, safety engineering, occupational environment health and safety, or a related field
    • 3+ years in a supervisory role
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations at all levels of government, including federal and state
    • Experience in industrial safety and employee training
    • Relative working experience conducting safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with occupational and environmental health and safety requirements; exposure to employee training programs; and maintaining complete safety and training records
