    Patient Access Representative
    Full time, Benefit eligible
    Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and could include evening, weekend or holiday rotations
    Bilingual (English/Spanish)


    The Patient Access Representative is expected to make all patients feel welcome, over the phone or in person, while capturing comprehensive and accurate information. Primarily performs all patient access related activities for the health center in support of the delivery of patient care. This includes the delivery of exceptional customer service and the accurate and comprehensive collection, verification, and data entry of demographic, insurance, and account information. The goal is to maximize health center revenues while facilitating efficient patient flow within the Clinical Department working within. This position is generally the front line staff that a patient encounters when coming to the health center and requires a unique skill set to be successful in this role. All Patient Access Representatives are evaluated on the following measurable goals deemed as integral components to effectively

    Department: Primary Care

    Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

    EDUCATION:
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

    EXPERIENCE:
    • One year of customer service experience
    • Previous experience in health insurance or medical setting strongly preferred
    • Previous cash handling experience preferred

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:
    • Demonstrated superior customer service skills with both internal and external customers
    • Bilingual skills preferred/required
    • Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced environment performing multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to manage cash with integrity and accuracy
    • Detail-oriented with respect to data entry and interpretation of insurance eligibility
    • Proven time management skills and organizational skills
    • Ability to work well independently as well as within a team
    • Demonstrates initiative and ability to learn quickly
    • Proficient with computer skills including ease with keyboard strokes and mouse maneuvering
