    The Town of Brookline is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Therapy Lead Program Instructor to support our Therapeutic Recreation Division.

    Working with a co-teacher, this Instructor will implement recreational programming that is inclusive, adaptive, and supportive for children, teens, and adults with various intellectual and/or physical abilities.

    Collaborates, develops, and then co-leads a specialized 6-8 week group program. Develops group program description with detail to goals, lesson structure and materials. Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all participants by adapting activities and directions to meet individual needs. Supervise volunteers. Drives 12-passenger van and 15-passenger mini-bus for programs, as necessary by program. Some of our programs include Friday night outings, Red Sox and Celtics games, Improv Boston, hiking/walking trips, etc.


    Qualifications:
    1-2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Valid Massachusetts Driver's License is required. Therapeutic Recreation Certification preferred.

    Relevant college course work in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Management, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Early Childhood Education is a plus.


    Starting Salary $18.00/hr. Works approximately 5 to 9 hours/week for the duration of the program (approximately 6-8 weeks). This position has potential for a hybrid work schedule as administrative tasks could be completed remotely. Please apply with resume. Position open until filled.
