    Description
    PSECU, a high-tech progressive financial institution with more than $8 billion in assets, is seeking a Mortgage and Home Equity Underwriter Specialist. This position will underwrite Mortgage and Home Equity applications.

    Schedule: Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM

    This position will be a hybrid model of both in person and remote with the minimum onsite expectation of 40%, or as needed. #LIHybrid

    Minimum Starting Pay Rate: $45,630/year - Commensurate with experience

    Candidate must be bondable and credit worthy.

    DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for this position:

    1. Monitor and manage Mortgage and Home Equity queues to ensure loans are being conditionally approved and underwritten efficiently and accurately. Identify opportunities to improve workflows.
    2. Underwrite 1stMortgage and Home Equity loans within scope of lending authority. Evaluate loan risks associated with individual mortgage files and determine credit worthiness of members per FNMA and PSECU Policy,Product Guidelines, and Underwriting Standards.
    3. Reviews and analyzes basic Tax Returns and underwriting scenarios.
    4. Review and Document Exceptions appropriately with Specialist II and/or Manager.
    5. Assist with software testing accurately in a timely manner. Document results.
    MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

    Bachelor's degree,

    And two years' experience in Mortgage Underwriting,

    And three years' experience in Mortgage Processing capacity,

    And trained in the use of automated underwriting systems,

    Or any equivalent combination of experience and education.
