Job Summary
The Getty Research Institute (GRI) seeks a creative, forward-looking, collaborative and service-oriented cataloger to coordinate authority control and bibliographic maintenance functions and provide original and complex copy cataloging for published materials handled within the Getty Library.
As part of a key institutional priority the GRI is advancing transformative program-wide approach to metadata strategy This initiative includes development hiring multiple metadata-focused positions designed work collaboratively across domains transform metadata governance improve data quality prepare linked data future at GRI
This role resides Published Materials Cataloging Metadata will work close partnership open Digital Stewardship Metadata Optimization Authorities Entity Management Metadata Specialist ensure alignment strategic planning operational workflows both published archival materials
Together these roles will,
- Coordinate cross-domain projects unify bibliographic archival metadata practices,
- Develop shared governance frameworks metadata quality identity management interoperability,
- Collaborate enrichment strategies leverage external authorities
