    100% Remote Position

    Our client is looking to add a Disaster Recovery (DR) Cloud Engineer that will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and monitoring client environments to ensure security and availability. The cloud engineer works as part of the Disaster Recovery and Infrastructure teams to set up and manage solutions for clients.

    All the Disaster Recovery assessments and implementations of disaster recovery. Each member of the team will support inside and outside sales in determining the appropriate disaster recovery solution.

    Duties:


    • Responsible for working with the Disaster Recovery team to design, develop, analyze, and document the support tasks associated with onboarding new customers. This includes validating these solutions as appropriate for each client's situational RTO / RPO requirements, keeping within budget constraints.


    • Demonstrable industry experience, knowledge, and expertise in Disaster Recovery.


    • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct disaster recovery efforts. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


    • Ability to communicate and report in writing test results to clients and to conduct issue triage and follow up with post-tests.


    • Assist with monitoring for high availability solutions and maintain RTO / RPO requirements.


    • Implement testing of Disaster Recovery solutions to validate recoverability and accommodate the training of relevant team members during these exercises.


    • Capacity Management and trend analysis for DR replication products and supported hypervisors.


    • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies. Employ innovative thought and automation to help improve workflow, efficiency, productivity, and technology deployment.


    • Assist in continued development of product management, collateral, white papers, website material, proposals, and subscriber guides.


    • Continuous improvement through ongoing analysis of best practices and new technology options.


    • Follow change control methodologies and communications plans using ITIL standards.


    • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external resources.


    • Participate in 24x7x365 on-call rotation as needed, to ensure availability of virtualization environments.

    Requirements


    • Four-year college degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.


    • Excellent working knowledge of the currently supported Microsoft Server / Desktop operating systems (Server 2008R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge of hardware and operating system-level functions.


    • Working knowledge of VMware / vSphere, Azure Stack HCI, and Oracle Linux Virtual Manager (OLVM).


    • Expertise in ESX 6.x, 7.x, vCenter v6 and v7, vSAN configurations, preferred knowledge of vRealize or equivalent resource optimization skillset.


    • Understanding of enterprise network, systems, and data center architecture, strategic planning, and cloud architecture.


    • Must have expert knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity practices, concepts, and methodologies.


    • Preferred knowledge of NIST 800-34


    • Excellent working knowledge of the various Windows Backup & Recovery products (Backup Exec, Spectrum Protect, Veeam, etc.) supporting management tools and their operation.


    • Fundamental understanding of the 2 main database platforms (Microsoft SQL and Oracle Database) and requirements for successful operation and recovery.


    • Fundamental understanding of network communication and components and good troubleshooting skills.


    • Fundamental understanding of support desk software and maintaining SLA models within that software (ticket generation through to resolution).


    • Experience in backup technologies and processes is a plus.


    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
