    Position Summary:

    Currently looking for a Certified Professional Midwife for our community birth center. In this position you will administer prenatal care, labor and delivery care, postpartum care and newborn care that are appropriate to community birth settings. This is an in person, on-call position; we have both part time, and full time employment opportunities available.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Our ideal Certified Professional Midwife will administer prenatal care, labor and delivery care, postpartum care and newborn care that are appropriate to community birth settings
    • Provide direct care for women in labor, including management of normal delivery in the home or at the birth center when applicable.
    • Offer education, health counseling, and health advocacy services to clients, families and significant other
    • Maintain all client records including charts, lab records, and weekly chart review
    • Order appropriate lab tests and referrals, interpret test results and follow-up of abnormal lab reports
    • Adhere to Health and Safety Policies and Procedures; participate in all safety programs, which may include assignment to an emergency response team
    • Performs all necessary client consultations
    • Exhibit a knowledge base of the work environment and the laws regulating Colorado midwives, and birth centers
    • Focus on providing high-quality, evidence-based care for women and families
    • Have a vision for community projects, while being self-directed, comfortable with independent practice, and the ability to guide Birth Center team members toward optimal service outcomes
    • Be open to and have a basic knowledge of alternative and holistic modalities of care and providers

    Additional Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintain quality, optimal client care
    • Plans, implements and evaluates client care plans
    • Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination
    • Participates in clinic and on-call CPM performing antepartum, intrapartum, birth, postpartum, newborn, well-woman care along with problem focused visits the schedule may permit
    • Attend staff meetings, training and education sessions as required or directed by the Department of Colorado Regulatory Agency and Governing Body

    Education: High school or equivalent plus

    Experience: Birth center, outpatient, and labor and delivery experience.

    License/Certification:

    • Current or ability to obtain licensure as an Certified Professional Midwife in Colorado
    • Current BLS and NRP Certifications

    Work Hours: Varies Monday - Friday, and on-call

    Compensation: $65- $85,000.00 annually dependent on experience

    The Certified Professional Midwives will uphold moral and ethical standards of Tender Gifts Midwifery & Birth Center.
