    Since 1952, HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland has been serving the County of Galveston. This 222-bed, acute care facility is considered one of the top hospitals in Texas City. They offer a full range of services including heart and vascular, minimally invasive surgery and orthopedic surgery. Mainland Hospital is a member of the HCA Healthcare network which is one of the nation's leading providers of healthcare services. HCA is made up of locally managed facilities that include more than 250 hospitals and freestanding surgery centers located in 20 U.S. states and in the United Kingdom.

    Trauma Program:

    • State Level III application in process
    • Trauma service takes 50% acute care surgery
    • 7 on/ 7 off schedule (24 hour call from home)

    Trauma Surgeon Criteria

    • Board Eligible / Certified General Surgery with Trauma/ Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Preferred
