Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our national construction company.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Human Resources practices and labor legislation, with a strong understanding of state-specific laws due to our multistate operations.

The HR Generalist will act as a central point of contact within the branch for directing HR-related activities, facilitating onboarding, overseeing terminations, managing Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests, and ensuring compliance with all employment laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the recruitment process from start to finish, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate selection.

Direct HR traffic within the branch, serving as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and directing them to the appropriate resources.

Conduct employee onboarding sessions to welcome new hires and familiarize them with company policies, procedures, and culture.
Manage the termination process, ensuring all procedures are followed in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
Administer FMLA requests and other leaves of absence, including tracking and maintaining accurate records.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across all states in which the company operates.
Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to reflect changes in laws and best practices.

Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as benefits, payroll, and leave, and resolve issues that may arise.

Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
Participate in HR projects, such as the implementation of new HR technology or programs.
Conduct regular HR audits to ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal policies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably within a multistate company in the construction industry.
Comprehensive understanding of state-specific employment laws and regulations.
Familiarity with industry-standard HR practices and labor legislation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office.
Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is preferred.
Ability to travel to different branch locations as needed.
