    Summary:

    The main function of a Researcher is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing, and maintaining technical records and files.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

    Maintain records and files of work and revisions.

    Confer with the client to establish technical specifications and determine the subject material to be developed for publication.

    Experience in creating documentation for a technical audience.

    Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

    Ability to read some programming code.

    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    Top 3 Hard Skills Required:

    Minimum 2-3 years of experience with MSFT365 - Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

    Minimum 2-3 years of experience with MSFT Office - SharePoint and Teams.

    Minimum 2-3 years of experience with Data entry or database management.

    Best vs. Average:

    The ideal resume would contain admin or research skills, proficiency in MSFT products, and Previous MSFT experience is always a plus.

    Purpose of the Team:

    The purpose of this team is to build a web-based application for customers to onboard to Microsoft's cloud. The team is part of the engineering organization and is looking for a contractor to help with data entry and research tasks revolving around this web application to ensure there is enough preset data available for users.

    Key projects:

    The contractor will help with data entry, research, and documentation tasks to support the transition from an old tool to a new tool.

    Researching open source data on customers who are transitioning to Microsoft's cloud.

    Entering data from an old tool into a database that can be uploaded to a new web-based application.

    Supporting documentation and data for briefing executives.

    Participating in meetings with the product teams and the engineering organization.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, or communications.
