    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Summary/Objective
    Under general supervision, but in accordance with established policies and procedures, this position is responsible for assisting the Sr. Rehab Manager in planning and executing applications as they relate to qualified home rehabilitation and new construction.

    To assist with various home rehabilitation and new construction grant/loan programs as approved by Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc.

    (AHSTI).

    Position will also work closely with the McAllen & Non-McAllen Coordinators to help coordinate rehab activities on identified properties from start to finish by completing the day-to-day tasks involved in planning and implementing a project, like coordinating with vendors, monitoring budget spending, and collaborating with other departments to find resources and more information for a project.


    Essential Functions

    • Provides information to clients with the various home rehabilitation and new construction grant/loan programs.
    • Assists in the request of environmental, survey, and elevation certificates for each home to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and requirements and corresponding program guidelines.
    • Assists in the preparation of work scopes to be bid out on homes under rehabilitation and new construction projects.
    • Assists in processing required documentation and closing qualified grants and loans by responding to requests for additional documentation needed by Home Buyer development, Legal, Compliance, and Lending departments as needed.
    • Assists in customer call backs and rehab complaints as it relates to the home rehabilitation and new home construction programs.
    • Requests title commitment, tax service & Hidalgo CAD records for customer on home rehabilitation and new construction grants/loans.
    • Perform home rehabilitation and new construction inspections on a weekly basis as required by current construction projects in various stages.
    • Assists with service repair calls & creates workscopes from customers on old "New Beginning's" lease program.
    • Preparation of demolition and building permits with local cities where home rehabilitation and/or new construction will be taking place.
    • Completing material selection for new home construction customers under the rehab department.
    • Provide assistance to the Construction Department as needed.
    • Covering the front area during lunch hour the Construction Services coordinator is out.
    • Analyzing data as required, conducting administrative duties, such as setting up meetings, drafting invoices and drawing estimates, tracking, and reporting project progress.
    • Assign lead applicants through Salesforce to the corresponding McAllen/Non-McAllen coordinators.
    • Assist in request of preparation of demolition & building permits for each city.

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma from an accredited high school or equivalent
    • Valid, current, and nonrestricted Texas Driver's License

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate Degree in Construction or related field preferred.
    • 13 years of experience in home construction.
    • Working knowledge of Adobe, Salesforce, REVVER, Microsoft Excel, Word, or comparable word processing/data base programs.
    • Strong written and oral skills in Spanish and English.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general documents, and government regulations.
    • Excellent problemsolving and multitasking skills.

    Work Environment
    This job operates 40% in the field and 60% in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    The employee frequently will be exposed to outside weather conditions inclusive of rain, cold, heat and humid conditions. Noise level in work environment is usually high. It is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of the organization, including Saturday rotations, and is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours each week.


    Travel
    Occasional travel outside of area related to training may be required of this position. Will occasionally drive distances of up to 100 miles' round trip in one day in company vehicle.
