is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.
ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world's premier systems.

Background Information:
This full-time position will provide systems support as part of the Range Instrumentation Division (RID) Range Systems Branch of the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland.
Members of this dynamic Range Systems Security Administration (RSSA) team manage the hardware and software infrastructure of approximately 450+ systems at ATR and its partners.
To meet the increased demands of secure system accountabilities, the RSSA team designs, deploys, and maintains system change management, secure baselines, and security monitoring.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Installing, hardening, supporting and troubleshooting Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, OpenSuSE, and potentially others)
Managing Tape/Disk Backup, and SAN Storage systems, including EMC Networker, Quantum StorNext, Dell EMC Data storage series hardware, and potentially others
Installing server hardware, cable equipment, and retrieving and delivering workstation hardware to end users
Managing Linux security patching, OS upgrades, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring maximum availability
Scheduling and performing regular systems maintenance
Ancillary duties may include:
setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, resolving software and hardware related problems, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space
troubleshooting and debugging issues that rise in production and during development
working with equipment and software vendors to coordinate updates, upgrades, troubleshooting, and hardware/software maintenance
working with team members to integrate tools with other IT systems and attending meetings to understand requirements, change requests, and defect reports
providing guidelines and/or recommendations and resolutions to requirements
Overtime, including some nights and weekends, and some travel may be required

Required Education, Experience, Skills, & Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited college or university
In lieu of a BS Degree, a High School diploma or equivalent GED and six (6) years' work experience performing the stated or similar function or an Associate's Degree plus four (4) years' work experience performing the stated or similar function is required
A minimum of three (3) years of work experience performing the stated or similar functions is required
Three (3) to five (5) years of Linux administration experience is desired
Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator certification is preferred
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an active COMPTIA Security+ CE or ISC2 CISSP certification or be to become current within 60 days from employment date
Candidate should be able to write system scripts and Red Hat Ansible playbooks for daily administration and have the ability to document system infrastructure
Candidate must have demonstrated initiative, customer orientation and team work competencies with the ability to communicate technical issues to technical people
Desired Skills:
Skilled reasoning, research, and troubleshooting abilities

Knowledge of Virtualization
Experience with Linux Operating System management tools, network configuration, and storage management
Troubleshooting and repair of computer hardware and software-related issues
Respond and resolve service outages, technical queries, and other system related issues
Manage user accounts/groups and group policies via Microsoft Active Directory
Assist in gathering information and processing data related to Cybersecurity
Perform and evaluate vulnerability scans on production and test systems
Experience with DoDI Information Assurance controls (IAC) and common vulnerabilities and exposures, DISA STIGs, DoD IVAM tracking and reporting procedures, and familiarity with FISMA, DIACAP, and other information security-related federal guidelines
Must ensure DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts and Bulletins (IAVA, IAVB) compliance by managing the installation of new software releases, system upgrades and installation of patches to resolve software related issues with the IT systems
Identify areas of non-compliance by using Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Ability to perform and analyzes system vulnerabilities using Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans???????

Clearance Requirement:
Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret (TS) United States DoD Clearance with a Tier 5 Background Investigation, which requires United States citizenship, and must maintain the clearance throughout employment
Work Conditions:
Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching
