- Directly supervise RN1's in the community
- Ensure adequate nursing supports and coverage to multiple teams
- Coordinate and assist mentoring, training, and guiding new RN1's in their new roles
- Assist teams in BPC audit and investigation findings while interpreting policies/procedures and regulations and complete pre-survey audits to assist in troubleshooting concerns
- Act as liaison with community providers and families when there are concerns that are met
- Complete team investigations once trained
- Sit on committees when needed such as Medication Event, Pharmacy Steering, Informed Consent Committee, or Incident Review Committee
- Actively participate in RN1 interviews and offer feedback and hiring recommendations regarding candidates
- Work independently as well as work well with interdisciplinary team members, and peer RNS1's
- Addressing deficits in knowledge as it relates to nursing and enhancing this knowledge
- Provide training to RN's as necessary within the community when vulnerabilities are noted, such as how to write a Plan of Nursing Service effectively, or MOLST and SDMC process
- Provide assistance in communicating with community physicians when necessary to promote education if the various areas of nursing (MOLST process)
- Travel throughout western counties of Onondaga, Cortland, Oswego, Cayuga is necessary
- Ability to adjust schedule to meet operational needs is essential

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in nursing can substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master's degree in nursing can substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
Open Competitive Qualifications:
Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and three years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
Duties Description:
