    Description

    Director of Nursing Position at Our Facility

    We are looking for a Director of Nursing to join our team and assist in the management and direction of the Nursing Department while upholding our Core Values:

    In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manages and directs all aspects of the Nursing Services Department.
    • Oversees new resident admissions and discharges.
    • Reviews and ensures accuracy of medical record documentation.
    • Participates in facility surveys and committee activities.
    • Determines nursing staffing levels and assists in recruitment.
    • Develops nursing staff work assignments and resolves complaints.
    • Supervises infection control program and care planning policy implementation.
    • Observes medication passes and treatments for quality assurance.
    • Conducts in-service training classes and maintains stock levels of medications and supplies.
    • Develops written plan of care for each resident.
    • Performs other duties as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
    • 3 years of supervisor experience in healthcare.
    • Active Registered Nurse license.
    • Knowledge of nursing practices and long-term care regulations.
    • Leadership, supervisory ability, and effective communication skills.
    • Ability to handle difficult situations with patience and tact.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Works in office and nursing service areas.
    • Subject to frequent interruptions and interactions with various individuals.
    • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious waste.
    • May be required to work beyond normal hours and on weekends.
    • Must cope with mental, emotional, and physical demands of the job.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist in resident evacuation if needed.
