    Description

    The Registered Echocardiology Technician, under the supervision of the Director, is primarily responsible for performing all echocardiology sonogram procedures. This position does not require call or holiday coverage.

    Part time, 40-63 hours per pay period. NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS.

    OR

    Full time, can be 64 hours per pay period or 80 hours per pay period. NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS.
    • Graduate of an approved A.M.A. school, or an approved training program for echocardiograms.
    • Must maintain a minimum of 15 CME dedicated to echocardiography over a three year period.
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required within two years (either through ARDMS or CCI).
    • Current CPR.
    • American Society of Echocardiography.
    • Will consider LPN, RN, or R.T.(R) with cardiac experience to train for this position with a minimum of 12 months of Echocardiography practice and performance of at least 600 Echocardiogram/Doppler examinations to be proficient.

    Qualifications

    5. Safety - Has received training, know and meets all job relevant standards related to OSHA, Fire, Safety and Utilities, Security, Emergency Preparedness, etc. Complies with all safety policies using proper tools in order to provide a safe work environment. Wears ID Badge at all times. When lifting heavy items always use proper lifting techniques. Addresses Employee/Patient incidents promptly, identifies and mitigates risks, follows Hand Hygiene guidelines, medication reconciliation (if applicable), and ventilator use (if applicable) all in accordance with KSB policies.
    6. Teamwork - Works well with other members of his/her department to promote a team effort for the good of the department's functions. Recognizes and rewards success.
    7. Required In-Services - all applicable required in-services have been completed for the evaluation year.
