    Job Title: Engineering Director

    About the Role:

    We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our engineering and project management functions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing these critical areas.

    Main Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and execute annual product development plans to support business strategies.
    2. Oversee all product design, testing, and validation, making professional judgments on results.
    3. Maintain awareness of competitive product offerings, material, and technical advancements that impact our company.
    4. Promote and maintain strong technical relationships with customers and suppliers.
    5. Provide technical assistance to internal and external marketing representatives and customers regarding product application.
    6. Establish engineering standards, policies, processes, and benchmarks for our team.
    7. Evaluate and optimize technical information infrastructure.
    8. Lead product development decisions and set priorities for new products or changes to existing products.
    9. Design new products meeting performance requirements and financial expectations.
    10. Modify and improve existing products.
    11. Manage project engineering teams through product development and release phases.
    12. Ensure product design meets expectations (reliability, aesthetics, customer requirements, regulatory requirements).
    13. Improve the Engineering Change Notice release process.
    14. Establish and manage annual operating budgets.
    15. Develop and coach assigned employees to produce a high-performing organization.
    16. Determine staffing and skill requirements and implement plans to meet organizational needs.

    Requirements:

    1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    2. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including dispute resolution and confidentiality.
    3. Proficiency in widely used software packages (spreadsheets, word processing, SharePoint).
    4. Able to recruit, retain, coach, and build a high-performing technical team.
    5. Meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain composure under pressure.
    6. Able to learn new duties and adapt to changing situations within a reasonable timeframe.
    7. Negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships at all levels.

    Qualifications:

    1. B.S. in Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
    2. Minimum 10 years of experience in product development and/or project management.
    3. Seven years of supervisory or management experience.
    4. Background in Diesel Engine Technology preferred.

    Education and Experience: Masters (preferred), Bachelors of Engineering (required); 10 years: Product development and/or project management (required), 7 years: Technical supervisory or management experience (required), Background in Diesel Engine Technology preferred.

    Licenses & Certifications: Project Management Professional Certification (preferred)
