R2M Pharma is a biotechnology research organization devoted to the discovery of high-quality small molecule preclinical development compounds for the treatment of unmet medical indications. We are searching for highly motivated, team-oriented scientists with strong technical skills and a track record of problem solving to join our team of professionals devoted to advancing novel treatments to unmet medical indications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a scientist in medicinal chemistry, effectively drive the medicinal chemistry efforts to meet aggressive corporate timeline
Conceive and execute novel ideas for the rapid optimization and improvement of chemical leads
Closely follow emerging results in pharmacological and ADME assays to contribute to the optimization strategy and advancement of lead candidates
Proactively gain competitive intelligence using available resources and incorporate this knowledge into internal drug discovery programs
Regularly provide medicinal chemistry and project updates to a multidisciplinary drug discovery team and senior management
Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory as evidenced by consistently generating high-impact compounds
Lead and contribute to the writing of patent applications, study reports, and scientific publications
Qualifications:
PhD or postdoctoral training in organic or medicinal chemistry. Medicinal chemistry experience in pharmaceutical industry highly preferred but not necessary.
Extensive knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and superior problem-solving skills
Skilled in the art and practice of modern synthetic and mechanistic organic chemistry with demonstrated experience in designing and executing multistep synthesis of complex organic molecules
A strong track record of creative problem solving
Competence with the use of modern spectroscopic methods applied to structure determination including 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 2D NMR, IR, and mass spectroscopy
Experience in the use of preparative and analytical chromatographic separations
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast- paced, multi-disciplinary environment
Competence with good laboratory practices that promote a safety-oriented professional work environment
