    Job Summary

    Responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for data-related projects. The role will partner closely with at least one Line of Business to maintain their data model in alignment with standards and architecture. The Senior Data Engineer will review data models, evolve and implement OneAmerica ways around data, and design and execute on continuous improvement efforts.

    As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a critical role in managing and optimizing data workflows within our organization. Your expertise in data pipelines and data management will directly impact our ability to extract valuable insights from large datasets. As a senior, you will lead technical implementations across the environment working with a variety of team members to move data across multiple platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop robust data pipelines to extract data from various sources (databases, APIs, logs, etc.) using tools.
    • Transform and cleanse raw data into usable formats, ensuring alignment to governance, quality, and modeling expectations.
    • Load processed data into data warehouses or other storage solutions.
    • Participate in solution development and design with various cross-functional teams, helping to create technical documentation and coordinate needs.
    • Participate on agile teams creating stories, estimating efforts, contributing to sprint planning and retros.
    • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the data warehouse, data lake, and data transformation concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Represents the data team on various projects, committees, and engagements.

    Required Education and/or Certifications

    • Bachelor's Degree

    Required Work Experience

    • 5+ years in an Application/Data Engineering field related to data integration.
    • 5+ years in SQL or similar language.
    • Experience in Informatica PowerCenter, IDMC, (or comparable tool) developing ETL jobs.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Azure Data Products, Snowflake, DB2, or similar database technologies.
    • Experience with one or more programming languages, including but not limited to: SQL, HTML, CSS, XML, or JavaScript
    • Experience with test driven development practices
    • Experience with NoSQL database technology
    • Experience working in a DevOps environment
    • Experience converting 3NF, data vault, dimensional, or other modeling techniques into data pipelines.

    Salary Band: 06C

    This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
