    Summary of Responsibilities:

    The Senior Broadcast Engineer of WUFT/WRUF is responsible for installation, operation and maintenance of all WUFT/WRUF broadcast equipment including but not limited to RF systems in accordance with federal, state, local, and university rules and regulations at all transmitter sites. They must have a thorough understanding of analog, digital, and IP-based systems and be able to integrate new technology and upgrades into the existing infrastructure as technology advances. They will need to be familiar with building systems and utilities, including electrical, HVAC, generators and UPS power systems. The Senior Broadcast Engineer is part of the Technology Advancement Group (TAG) and will support technical and engineering needs with the team managing both the television and radio stations infrastructure and technology. The Senior Broadcast Engineer will report to the Assistant Director of Engineering.

    Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote broadcast transmission sites.

    Expected Salary:

    $70,000-$80,000

    Minimum Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Ten years' experience maintaining digital and analog TV and radio broadcast equipment and related IP-based equipment.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot highly complicated broadcast systems and equipment, including the ability to troubleshoot to component level when appropriate. Experience researching, recommending and purchasing TV and radio broadcast equipment.
    • Demonstrated ability to work constructively with colleagues and engineering staff in a creative, collaborative, innovative, respectful, multi-unit, multiple-project environment, delivering results with high standards.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work well with diverse personalities and varying levels of engineering and technological knowledge/experience.
    • Stay attuned to broadcast industry trends.
    • Ability to be on call 24/7/365.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and must be able to climb ladders and crawl on floors in order to access broadcast equipment and systems.
