As an SLPA, you will be instrumental in assisting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with communication and swallowing disorders.
Working closely with our team, you will aid in developing and implementing treatment plans, providing therapy services, and tracking client progress.
This role offers a chance to contribute to the field of speech-language pathology and positively influence the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities:
Help conduct assessments under the supervision of licensed SLPs to determine speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing issues.
Support the creation of individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client objectives, and SLP direction.
Provide therapeutic services as instructed by licensed SLPs, including speech and language, voice, fluency, and swallowing therapy.
Use various methods and tools to improve communication skills, speech articulation, and language comprehension and expression.
Work with families, caregivers, and other professionals to offer support and education on communication disorders.
Help monitor student progress, document therapy outcomes, and report results to licensed SLPs.
Stay current with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through professional development.
Engage in team meetings and case conferences to contribute to the success of the school.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
Valid and current state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
Preferred prior experience as an SLPA or in a similar role.
Understanding of assessment tools and therapy techniques in speech-language pathology.
Ability to work under the guidance of licensed SLPs and collaborate within a team.
