Job DescriptionAt Riverwood Center we have a team of caring and committed professionals providing a wide array of personalized services to individuals with behavioral health, intellectual & developmental disabilities and substance use disorders. Riverwood Center is located in beautiful Southwest Michigan with staff at seven sites across Berrien County. We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and a member of Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health, Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards, and the National Council for Behavioral Health.Benefits:

Responsibilities:
Provides peer supports service with individuals with mental health/substance use disorders.
Acts as a role model by utilizing individual lived experiences, advocacy, problem solving, coping techniques, and self-help strategies.
Assists individuals in achieving increased community inclusion, participation, independence, and productivity.
Services and activities will be completed in partnership with consumers and will be provided both within and outside normal hours of
operation.
Documents activities in an electronic medical record
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have received behavioral health services and have a severe or persistent mental illness.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have reliable means of transportation for community outings and transporting consumers.
Certifications:
Must become certified as a Peer Support Specialist within six months.
