    GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Insurance Verification Specialist will ensure seamless coordination between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Verifying patient insurance coverage by contacting insurance companies via phone, online portals, or other means.
    • Obtaining and recording accurate insurance information, including policy numbers, coverage details, and authorization requirements.
    • Communicating with patients to gather necessary insurance information and clarify coverage details.
    • Reviewing insurance policies and benefit information to determine coverage levels for specific medical procedures or services.
    • Confirming pre-authorizations and obtaining any necessary authorizations for medical services.
    • Collaborating with healthcare providers, billing departments, and insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to insurance coverage.
    • Providing assistance to patients regarding insurance questions, coverage limitations, and payment options.
    • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of insurance verification activities and patient interactions.
    • Staying updated on changes in insurance regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare administration, medical billing, or insurance verification is preferred.
