    Overnight Desk Managers work to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that helps to enhance student and community development.

    Overnight Desk Managers will oversee the operations of 5-6 desks at a time during the overnight hours (3:30am-10:30am).

    Overnight Desk Managers will be stationed at one desk, but will respond to calls from other buildings to assist residents in need by answering questions, issuing keys, or providing support and customer service.

    The Overnight Desk Manager is expected to role model leadership, integrity, and must possess a passion for working with undergraduate students in a residence hall setting.

    Specific Responsibilities Support customer service and student support across an area (multiple buildings) of front desks, answering calls and responding to the building of need to assist students.

    Work Schedule Shifts are in 2 hour periods, hours primarily between 12:30am-10:30am and 2:30pm-4:30pm week day and cover majority of the 24 hour day on weekends.

    All employees and staff of ISU are bound by all NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference and institutional rules and regulations pertaining to intercollegiate athletics and must conduct themselves in accordance therewith.

    Job Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Providing excellent customer service; perform basic administrative work 2. Sometimes may need to meet with the Desk Manager or Assistant Hall Director of the residence hall. These will be established in collaboration with the Desk Manager or Assistant Hall Director.3. Collaborate with the Area Coordinator and Assistant Hall Director of the Residence Hall 4. Attend student staff meetings at the request of the Assistant Hall Directors. 5. Monitor and restock all desk materials as needed to ensure successful desk operations. Communicate with the Assistant Hall Director when needed regarding these materials. 6. Monitor the checkout log to ensure that equipment is properly logged out and returned. 7. Monitor keys behind the desk that include classroom keys, duty key rings, desk key rings etc.8.

    Document situations where other Desk assistants and students fail to follow policy, and report these issues to Desk Manager, AHDs, and coordinators within the Residence Hall.

    Maintain a high level of security at the front desks- ensure all desk and office doors are locked and keys are put away in a locked space at the end of each shift.10.

    Follow and abide by established rules and expectations to successfully operate the desk. 11. There may be times when you cover a missed shift or be called to help find a cover. If you cover a missed shift, you will be paid for that shift. If you are called because a staff member doesn't report to work. 12.

    The Overnight Desk Manager position is an academic year appointment, and you must be willing to work from the middle of August through the beginning of May of each academic year.

    Specific dates depend on fall opening dates and spring closing dates.
