    Job Title: Marine Interdiction Agent

    Air and Marine Operations (AMO) offers a unique career opportunity in law enforcement working with an elite team of highly trained professionals. As a Marine Interdiction Agent, you will perform marine-based law enforcement operations to detect, prevent, interdict, and apprehend terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband.

    Salary and Benefits:

    As a GS-11 grade level position, you may earn up to $73,939–$96,116 per year based on your qualifications for the possible extra compensation based on your duty location. You may be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level automatically (without re-applying) once you complete 52-weeks at each grade level (with supervisor approval) and any additional training, licensing, and certification requirements.

    Duty Locations:

    A duty location will be offered after successful completion of the pre-employment process. Possible duty locations include:

    • Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Marathon, FL
    • Fajardo, Mayaguez, Ponce, and San Juan PR; and Saint Thomas, VI
    • Bellingham, WA
    • Port Huron, MI
    • Houma, LA
    • Brownville, TX

    Qualifications:

    To qualify for this position, you must have a qualifying Merchant Mariner Credential and meet one of the following requirements:

    • One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as controlling/commanding law enforcement scenes, conducting investigative inquiries, utilizing cameras and electronic surveillance equipment, writing comprehensive arrest and incident reports, and assisting government attorneys in court cases.
    • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M.
    • A combination of successfully completed post-bachelors' education and experience.

    Other Requirements:

    You must be a U.S. Citizen, have had primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years, and meet the age requirement or have a waiver due to creditable law enforcement officer service or veterans' preference eligibility. You may be required to successfully complete the training requirement as a condition of employment.
