- Administer medication and treatment prescribed by physicians
- Maintain up-to-date cumulative health records and other health related data on all students requiring nursing intervention
- Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on student health matters
- Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student who has suffered an injury or emergency illness
- Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures
- Implement board policy on exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases
- Conduct training for students related to handicap, health and hygiene
- Assist school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools
- Assist staff members with necessary and required health/safety trainings
- Oversee vision/hearing screenings, BMI and nutrition for students
- Attend meetings and/or training as requested, required and/or needed
- Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met
- Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions
- Follow code of ethics for educators
