The Senior Operations and Cost Accountant is responsible for ensuring proper and accurate accounting of the Companys manufacturing operations, including inventory control, timely and accurate reporting and in-depth analysis. The position will coordinate with various departments including Finance, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Sales and Customer Support in performing duties including updating and maintaining standard costs, month-end close process, internal controls and supporting Senior Vice President of operations with various financial activities.

Principal Accountabilities

• Own the Companys manufacturing accounting processes
• Complete annual standard cost updates for US and foreign entities and maintain cost updates through the year
• Administer the Companys cost accounting system for all the Companys sites
• Proactively investigate, understand and report on manufacturing variances
• Identify and implement cost accounting procedures and methods and process improvements
• Perform month-end closing process including journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis, reports and
• schedule preparation, etc.
• Proactively examine and review unusual transactions
• Support period-end external financial audits
• Complete adhoc financial analysis and reporting
• Support year-end inventory count for all Companys inventory locations
• Follow and expand upon internal control procedures
• Support Operations in various activities including responding to inquiries, developing budgets, monitoring and
• Reporting actual results, calculating and reporting key metrics
• Education/Experience
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Strong understanding and experience in a manufacturing cost accounting required
• Knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting required
• Experience with standard costing and cost accounting systems required
