We ask that our team members be physically located in Central European time or Eastern Standard/Daylight time zones for the purposes of our collaboration hours.We are looking for a seasoned data scientist with experience providing insights to platform organizations to join the Personalization Platform team. The Personalization Platform team builds the models, tools, and data products that represent user taste, behavior, discovery, and their relationships with content. Your work will help us measure the impact of our platform and explore new opportunities to improve our understanding of users and the audio they love.

    What You'll Do

  • Develop research questions and conduct data analysis to understand internal usage of our data products as well as their impact on Spotify's users
  • Design and analyze experiments and perform causal inference when A/B testing is not an option
  • Evaluate the performance of ML models in online and offline settings
  • Define, evaluate, and monitor key metrics
  • Who You Are

  • At least 3 years of professional experience as a data scientist in a related tech/consumer field
  • Technical competence to perform advanced analytics: coding skills (such as R, Python, or Scala), experience with analytics and visualization tools (SQL, Tableau, ggplot/matplotlib or equivalent), and experience performing analysis with large datasets
  • Significant expertise in experimentation and causal inference
  • You are an independent thinker, able to work autonomously, capable of taking on loosely defined problems and translating complex thinking into practical application for diverse audiences
  • You are a communicative person who values building strong relationships with colleagues and partners and enjoys mentoring and teaching others

  • The United States base range for this position is $107, 153, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
