    Master Scheduler

    Reports to:

    Position Objective:
    Working from current demand, forecasts, history & manufacturing capacity data to establish production schedules and labor requirements.


    Collaborates with Purchasing, Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Engineering to develop and maintain a master build plan schedule taking into account design changes, labor and material shortages, demand changes, backlogs and other schedule interruptions.

    Facilitates the divisional SIOP process and meetings. For the SIOP process, creates rough cut capacity plan and reconciles supply and demand. Act as group lead for planning functions addressing day to day issues and driving process improvements.


    Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate the divisional SIOP process and meetings to align supply and demand inputs. Create rough cut capacity plan and reconcile supply and demand.
    • Develop and deliver succinct, relevant and timely reporting to support the SIOP process
    • Develop and manage the performance of the end-to-end SIOP process by tracking and reporting on KPI's for planning and inventory management
    • Drive improvements in demand and inventory planning forecast accuracy by addressing sources of variation and develop feedback loops to drive continuous improvement
    • Assess adoption of workflow management tools, automation, and AI intelligence to reduce SIOP process related labor hours
    • Review the sales forecast, current customer orders, intercompany demand, historical data and desired inventory levels to create a Master Production Schedule. Communicate any changes to schedule and assess trade-offs with various partners.
    • Develop and maintain metrics to show adherence to master production schedule. Collaborate with management, customer service, sales, production, and engineering regarding reschedules, design changes, labor & material issues, capacity, backlog ETA's, & other issues impacting the master production schedule.
    • Maintain valid SAP planning settings including implementing actions required by ECN's, DMR's and ADR's. Analyze planning data to ensure appropriate planning strategy for product lines and demand patterns.
    • Act as group lead for planning functions addressing day-to-day issues and driving process improvements.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Establish effective working relationships with other departments in the organization to ensure the smooth transition of information.

    Dimensions of Position:

    No direct supervision responsibility but gives direction to the Buyers, Planners and even Operations staff regarding the Master Schedule.


    Qualifications:
    Education and Experience


    Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field with a minimum of five years' experience as a Master Scheduler in a large MRP driven, manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the hiring manager and Human Resources.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Experience leading and facilitating SIOP process
    Must have recent experience with SAP
    Previous experience utilizing planning/forecast software is a plus
    Knowledge of BOMs, ECOs, production control, capacity planning, and inventory management
    Lean manufacturing experience is a plus

    Strong facilitation, organizational, and presentation skills
    Excellent analytical skills with an aptitude for numbers
    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    Facilitates and drives continuous improvement
    Positive attitude and willingness to do what is needed while growth oriented
    Ability to determine important/critical issues and act on them (sense of urgency)

    Working Conditions


    Work is performed in a standard or home office environment which requires occasionally lifting articles such as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently.

    A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time at long periods of computer work and phone usage.

    This position is onsite but allows occasional remote as needed.
