This position is intended for the propulsion plant power distribution system group in Department E83. The incumbent will be responsible for developing ship change documents, reviewing drawings, and writing technical letters.

This position regularly communicates with NAVSEA, public shipyards, COMNAVAIRFORCES, and Engineers/Designers within NNS via email, phone, and in person meetings.

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Experience in Electrical power distribution, Switchboards, Circuit Breakers desired.

Be familiar with Microsoft Office suite and Palidin software.
