    Job Description:


    A Siena University Rugby Assistant Coach should understand and exemplify Siena University's mission statement and the Student Life values of Diversity, Optimism, Respect and Service (DORS values).

    The responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the promotion of a competitive and participatory club level Women's rugby program while ensuring a safe and quality program; assist with the fitness, selection, recruitment, retention of players.

    The assistant coach will coordinate with the head coach to implement individual and team-based coaching strategies that focus on developing specific skills through both training and competition
    The assistant coach must have extensive experience coaching backs and attack.

    He will develop well-structured training sessions that provide team progressions in the areas of set pieces (back line attack, kicking) and open play (back/attack focused) as well as defense and be present at all student practices and competitions.


    Hours:
    August through April, 9-month, Part time position, maximum of 29 hours per week
    Practices Mon-Fri, 2 hours each day = 10 hours per week
    Weekend hours for games and competition

    Annual Salary:
    $7,500.00

    Requirements:
    High School diploma or equivalent required
    Minimum 4 years of playing and 4 years of coaching with 1 year coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level
    USA Rugby Level 200
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Demonstrated experience working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
    Knowledge of and commitment to College, USAR and NYSRC rules

    Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment.

    A background screening will be required.

    Preferred qualifications:
    Progressively responsible experience in practice and game-day coaching

    Additional Information:
    Part-time position throughout the academic year.
