    Alpha Baking Company is a leading food manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality products to our customers, and we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.

    Position Summary

    The Senior Accountant reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for the ownership and execution of key accounting processes in relation to the monthly close.

    This position will entail the research, automation and streamlining of existing accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.

    Areas of focus include accounting process automation, developing best practices and accounting policies, implementing new accounting technologies where needed, developing robust SOP's for existing accounting processes and leading and mentoring more junior accounting staff members.

    Responsibilities
    Refine and oversee existing accounting processes with the goal of utilizing automation to streamline and strengthen existing tasks.
    General ledger account reconciliations as a part of normal close procedures, both oversight and execution.
    Assists with all corporate audits.
    Develop SOP's for key accounting tasks and work with existing staff to learn and optimize recurring processes.

    In Coordination with Alpha's Information Technology department, guide the design, implementation and testing of accounting technologies to achieve improvements in established goals.

    Performs other duties as required.
    Requirements

    Specific Qualifications (items are required unless otherwise noted)
    A bachelor's degree in Accounting is required, and an advanced degree in relevant disciplines or CPA is preferred.
    5-10 years of related work experience
    A strong attention to detail, project management and organizational skills.
    Working knowledge of enterprise level accounting reporting systems.
    Proven track record of automating and taking ownership of accounting processes.

    Advanced excel skills (look up functions, sumif, sumifs, index match, choose, etc.), Microsoft Access and Power BI experience a huge plus.

    Outstanding interpersonal skills. An extroverted team player who projects an open and trustworthy communication style with all constituencies.
    Unquestioned integrity, ethics, and the values appropriate to a leader of the company.
    Well established interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to integrate policies and procedures.
    Resourceful, innovative, and progressive. A self-starter who can take conceptual direction to achieve desired outcomes.
