    Title:
    Communications Co-op Intern (20 hrs wk)


    Starting Salary:
    $15.00/hour


    Job Summary:
    Provide miscellaneous clerical and administrative support to teams, committees, or work groups, as needed.


    Essential Functions:
    Provide routine documents and reports as needed.
    Proofread materials for inaccuracies and errors. Makes corrections or returns to appropriate person to make corrections.
    File materials according to subject matter, alphabetically, numerically or chronologically.
    Make copies of departmental files, records and correspondence.
    Answer routine inquiries by phone or in person. Directs callers and visitors to the proper party or department. Relays messages as necessary.
    Sort, open and distribute mail and departmental materials.
    Releases departmental information according to standardized departmental procedures. Refers unusual requests to supervisor.
    May be responsible for meeting coordination and set up.
    Actual job functions will vary based on team assignment.

    For Communications & Community Outreach team:


    Write communication materials, help coordinate and attend OCHN special events, and assist member of the communications/community outreach team as needed.

    Write and proofread various OCHN communication materials.
    Assist other OCHN teams with communications requests.
    Design fliers and invitations for OCHN events.
    Reserve meeting rooms.
    Manage attendee list utilizing OCHN's web system.
    Post press announcements on electronic media.
    Write newsletter articles.
    Identify publicity opportunities.
    Support advocacy campaign.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Education:
    Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
    Current enrollment in an accredited college/university bachelor's or master's degree program, pursuing a degree in business or public administration.

    Experience Requirements:
    One year experience in office, administration, or customer service preferred.

    Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications.
    Ability to maintain tact and discretion during interactions with management, staff, and community members.

    Special Information (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc):

    Must have available means of transportation to and from OCHN and for required offsite meetings or site visits.
    Must be available for meetings and events which may occur outside of standard office hours.
    Work performed primarily in an office environment.
    Hybrid (onsite/remote) work schedule available.
