    Position Overview

    AJM Packaging Corporation, one of Americas leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls, and bags, is seeking Hi-Lo Operators to join our team in Southgate, MI. This position will operate an industrial truck equipped with a forklift to unload, push, pull, lift, stack, move and stage products and materials.

    Pay

    • $15 to $18/HR to start, 1st review and raise of up to $1 at 90 days
    • Plus an additional $0.50/HR for every hire you refer to AJM, with no limit on the number of referrals

    Available Shifts (Full Time 40 hours)

    • 1st 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
    • 2nd 3:30 PM 11:30 PM
    • 3rd 11:30 PM 7:00 AM

    Responsibilities & Duties:
    • Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
    • Safely operates forklift and/or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, and staging products.
    • Works cooperatively and productively with supervisors and other associates in order to complete tasks.
    • Arranges cartons on pallets keeping in mind size, weight, height, etc.
    • Loads trucks keeping in mind cubic weight, size and characteristics (i.e., easily crushable,) in mind.
    • Works productively (i.e., receiving products, picking products, etc.) with little supervision.
    • Maintains condition of warehouse and work area (I.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).
    • Additional duties as assigned.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
    • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
    • Must have minimum of 1 year experience operating a sit-down forklift

    AJM was founded as a manufacturer of paper and plastic products in 1957 by three (3) Detroit area brothers who eleven (11) years earlier began selling retail packaging, cleaning and office supplies and equipment and consumer disposables out of a small warehouse in Detroits Eastern Market. Over many years, we gradually evolved from our broadline distributor beginnings into a major paper products manufacturer, today employing nearly 3,000 people and operating eight (8) manufacturing and five (5) warehouse/distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States.
