    Network Engineer Lead - Washington D.c., United States - Gridiron IT Solutions

    Looking for a Lead Network Engineer to join our team in DC.
    Must have TS/SCI Clearance.

    The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for network engineering tasks to support a crucial Special Access Program (SAP) network. Providing technical leadership in planning, designing, and implementing communication solutions that have a wide impact across the network. Tasks include incorporating digital encoding formats, line codes, and timing concepts in various engineering settings.

    As a Lead Network Engineer, you will guide team members, customers, and vendors in defining, analyzing, and delivering solutions for voice, data, and image communication needs. Creating detailed work prints and schematics to outline network structures and recommending new design tools and product modifications to enhance capabilities. Evaluating network usage patterns to implement effective media solutions and developing Network Management Systems for monitoring and controlling network performance. Recommending network administrative systems for accurate inventory management and infrastructure implementation.

    Requirements:

    • 5-10 years of experience in Network Administration/Network Engineering, with expertise in networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS), hands-on experience with network tools, and configuring network devices/services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
    • 5 years of experience with virtual applications, VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi
    • Ability to handle multiple projects from design to implementation, perform network maintenance and upgrades, and report technical topics to leadership
    • Work within established change management policies, advise on security tools/policies, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams
    • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to undergo a polygraph exam
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
    • CompTIA Security+ certification
    • Cisco CCNP Certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in IT, Information Systems, or Engineering
    • VMware Certified Advanced Professional Network Virtualization Design, VCAP-NV Design
    • VMWare NSX experience
    • Cisco CCIE Certification
    • CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP certification
    • Cisco Advantage/DNAC (DNA Center)
    • Gem One and KG knowledge

    Clearance:
    Active TS/SCI clearance required
